These dog clocks were made in Germany by J Oswald of Frieburg. They were patented in England and also shown at the Leipzig Fair where they were an instant success. The movement of this "Scotty" is 8 day but the clocks were also made with 30 hour movements.Notes:
An eyecatcher and definitely a collectable clock. Dates from circa 1928. References to similar clocks: CC p 256. One of these was shown on UK TV in the Antiques Roadshow and was valued at around 300 pounds.
