SI program Clock

Signal-Uhr SI Program Clock

Ref No: w1058

Case:
Light oak finish
Size: 27 inches high. 13.5 inches wide, 5.5 inches deep.
Movement:
Remontoire mechanism. Operates from 220 volt ac which powers a synchronous motor which rewinds a spring mechanism using mercury switching. The program wheel can be set up to quite precise times and is also controlled by a mercury switch so that it can handle a relatively high voltage and current
Other pictures:
Picture with hands and dial removed
The movement
Close up of the movement. The pin which is moved as the spring is wound can be seen (just). This eventually trips the mercury rewind switch to off.

Notes:

Thanks to Reinhard Helsper for information about the maker. He tells me that it appears to be a JUNDES (Jauch und Smidt) and probably dates from the 60s.
