

Junghans Electro-gong battery mantel clock

Case: Highly polished Walnut finish. Approx. 9" wide x 7" high. 3.25 " front to back
Mounted with thick brass sideplates.
Size: Dial about 6 inch square.
Movement: Battery operated electric rewind of spring which then runs a conventional balance wheel escapement. Motor is of the Diehl type where one of the motor brushes is raised from the commutator to stop the motor when the remontoire spring is fully wound.
Notes: Clock strikes at the hour and half hour on pleasant sonorous rods which are mounted on a loudspeaker-like base. Strike is Ding-Dong style.
The movement is Junghans type 701.01 The 701 was first produced in 1963 and has 2 jewels.
