Farcot

A French maker who patented a special form of anchor escapement in 1862 so that the pendulum swung backwards and forwards rather than side to side.

I am informed that Tardy, in his authoritative book, indicates:

Farcot E, Paris 1858

Was at Rue de Trois Bornes 1860- 1890.

Exhibited conical pendulum statue clock in London in 1862 and in Paris in 1867.

His son in law, Wandenburg, succeeded him and exhibited a talking clock in 1896 The clock used a celluloid cylinder.
