Bentima

Bentima was an English company which built clocks using other manufacturers movements. For all I know they may also have bought in the cases from other sources.

They were active in England during the 30's and 40's. They quite often used movements by "Perivale" ( another English company) and I prefer these, for quality, to the majority of other English movements at that time which were mostly Smiths.

I have a copy of an advert dated 1940 for their clocks which mentions the use of Perivale movements.

There address at that time was 18 Bury Street, London EC3 (no post codes in those days except for the london district codes EC3 etc)

For your interest Brian Moss sent me a copy of the Instructions sent out with each Bentima Clock, Click on Instructions to see them. They also made some battery clocks after the war. They remained in business until at least 1978 as I have a copy of the Horological Journal for Jan 78 which contains an advertisement of theirs
