Anton Winterhalder married the daughter of Johan Hofmeier and established a factory, moving to Neustadt in 1895. Four of Antons sons followed their father in business each having his own factory with Linus Winterhalder co-ordinating.
The firm made high quality clocks mainly for the English market.
Trademark used was the letters W. & H.SCH
