Was passed to me by a watchmaker as being a control clock from a mine, intended to make the mine live after a safety period. Dates from 1939-45 probably 1940.In "Collectable Clocks" (Reference: p 392-4 of CC), Shenton has extensive details of the "Reform" movement manufactured by Schild and Co. and states "these movements proved to be extremely reliable and found their way into a number of casing variations...they were later developed for use in the delayed action mechanism of marine mines". Well, the penny eventually dropped and I looked inside my controller to find, yes, it is recognisably the same movement.
I think any collector with a Reform clock will be interested in this rare mine controller version.
