Vienna 'Regulator'
Ref No: 30
Case: Walnut veneer with glass panels to front door and sides. Nicely veneered backboard.
Size: 41" inches high.
Movement: Maker Lenzkirch with trademark on rear plate. Clock number 327498 and the additional mark of 1 million. Pendulum and gong mounted on the backboard. Pendulum is of wood with brass faced bob. The movement is fixed to the backplate by slides and there is a plaque to show the arc of the pendulum. Two section enamel dial.
Notes:Lenzkirch are the best known makers of these clocks and have a high reputation.
I think this dates from circa 1900 (based on the 1 million mark and its number). Very similar appearance to
one shown in a catalogue reproduction at p 227 of CC
which also has considerable information on these "Vienna" clocks.
