Case: Hardwood base and Glass dome.
Size: 6 inches high
Movement: Lowne took out patents for a synchronous clock after developing his well known "master pendulum transmitter"
Notes: Very collectable. It dates from circa 1934, as the use of synchronous mains power was not developed until around then. The clock has the words "Patent applied" for on it and a check on the patent register shows an application by Lowne in connection with synchronous clocks was made in 1933 and that the patent was granted in April 1935. This appears to fix the date of this clock as I assume that they would have changed the wording when the patent was granted.
