Rotary Pendulum Clock
Ref No. 12
Case: Glass dome and ebonised base with metal feet.
Size: Overall 7 inches high. Dial diameter approx 2 inches.
Movement: Sometimes called the "Brigg's Rotary". Has two patent numbers stamped on the top of the plates (1855 and 1856). I know that modern reproductions were made but tend to think that this is an original.
Notes: I think it dates from circa 1860. References to similar clocks: Good description in CC p 260. Picture and description in CWB
BEWARE of modern replicas. These, by comparison, would have only a low value. Click for picture of replica on offer in recent magazine issue @ $255
