Clifford Bird's recent book on "Metamec the clockmaker, Dereham" contains pictures listing the majority of the Metamec models, supplemented by a partially complete list of the dates when manufacture of each model started and ceased.

Using a number of price lists and catalogues that I have been fortunate enough to acquire I have compiled further provisional information about dating based on the date each model appears in the catalogues and when it is no longer offered. I do not have webspace to put this data on my website but if you send pictures and hopefully a model number from Cliffords book I will tell you anything I can.

I have added model numbers and dates to the Metamec clocks in my collection. (These are in the detail view of each clock) Where the information is based on my catalogues I prefix the date with a "*")

If you have, or know of, any old Metamec price lists or catalogues I beg a copy. I will exchange photocopies or will buy a photocopy from you. A scan of your catalogue at 300dpi would be even better and can be sent on a CD. I particularly want price lists for any year before 1960 but would also like to fill in a few years in the 60's and 70's

Whatever you have please get in touch. It would enable me to date the Metamec stuff more closely and this would benefit most Metamec collectors.
